Update: Primo's Venezuelan

This truck was the first to relocate to the Gosling Express food truck court when it opened.  I stopped in to give it another try and am really glad I did.  I had the Classic Burger with a Papelon Con Limon.  The burger is one of the best I have had anywhere--it comes with a beef or chicken patty (I had beef), a slice of grilled pancetta (bacon on the menu) a fried egg, potato sticks (the Pik-Nik ones that come in the big cans in the store), Venezuelan cheese and their own sauce.  The combination eats perfectly--just a bit sloppy and absolutely full of flavor.  You get all four texture layers in every bite, and they blend beautifully.  It will be hard for me to get anything but the burger in the future.

The Papelon con Limon is now off the menu but you can still ask for it.  It's a combination of lemon, lime, and brown sugar that has a lot of depth for a lemonade.  Kind of like an Arnold Palmer but more exotic.

I saw a second truck of theirs at the park when I was there.  Not sure if they are expanding, but I would think he could do it.  Amazing burger!

Big Cab's Crawfish Update

My last review was done during their off season menu when they don't have crawfish.  The truck has moved to the food truck court behind the Gosling Express and I thought I'd check out their signature dish.  They had just received a delivery and prepared a fresh batch when I came by.

The crawfish were a bit uneven in size, since it's still a bit early in the season, but the flavor was wonderful and the crawfish were perfectly cooked.  Almost, but not quite, too spicy for me to eat, though my spice tolerance is low.  It's worthwhile to add corn and potatoes, and put their tasty cajun butter sauce on them.  The whole meal was fantastic.

I wish them success in their new location.  The venue continues to improve, though the parking is terrible.

Woodsedge Coffee House

Woodsedge Community Church has a performing space with a coffee shop that has been operating since 1993.  They just recently opened the coffee shop to the public from 7am-4pm Monday through Thursday.  I stopped in the other day to try it out.

The Woodsedge campus is quite large, but they have effective temporary signage that leads you to the coffee shop.  The performance space is very spacious, inside it feels like you are outside.  The offerings are pretty basic, so I went with an Americano and a ham and cheese croissant.  They were both competent--the coffee was fine and gave the requisite caffeine kick.  The croissant was OK, they warmed it up for me.  It was an inexpensive lunch.

I don't know that I would go out of my way just for the coffee shop unless they upgrade the menu, but if you're there to visit and are feeling peckish it is worthwhile.
