Las Flautas Deliciously Mexican

This Tex-Mex catering business has located their food truck at the Gosling Food Park.  I stopped in for lunch the other day.  The menu is very simple--flautas (available by themselves or as a meal combo) and a pozole.  I decided to go with the truck namesake.  They come in threes--I got one beef, one chicken, and one potato chorizo (they also have potato and cheese).  I got it as a combo with rice and beans.  The meal comes with grated cheese and three dipping sauces--red salsa, green salsa and sour cream.

The beans are black beans--they were served broken, mostly pureed but not completely.  The rice is a standard tex-mex rice with corn and carrots.

I'm not really a big fan of flautas--too high a ratio of tortilla to filling, and usually they are chewy.  These flautas were cooked perfectly--hot and crunchy, and they bite through just right so you can enjoy dipping them in the sauces.  Unfortunately the filling-to-carb ratio still holds.  And none of the food had very much flavor, including the salsas.  The textures were right on (except for the beans) but there's just nothing for the taste buds to get hold of.

The drinks are all bottled/canned sodas.  Service was friendly and quick for fresh food.  If you are all about texture then these flautas will suit you, but the flavor was somewhat lacking.
